Global Tea Hut is a tea community created by Tea Sage Hut, a non-profit organization based in Taiwan which serves as a tea and meditation temple and school dedicated to promoting the tea leaf, organic and sustainable agriculture, and tea’s potential as a transforming element inviting harmony into our lives.
Every month we gather at Ceremonia del Té for a Global Tea Hut gathering where we share a meditation session, tea ceremony and speak about all things tea related. We share the tea of the month and comment on the monthly Global Tea Hut magazine articles or topics.

Discovering Perfect Teas for Winter

In this workshop we’ll explore a selection of teas that are perfect for the Winter. While it’s true that one can enjoy any tea, anytime, it’s also true that teas can be either more Yin or Yang. Tea that is more Yang provide us with more warmth and are more harmonious with the season.

Aged Tea Workshop (2 hours)

In this workshop we’ll explain the different types of aged tea (white tea, green tea, oolong, sheng puerh, shou puerh, red tea and black tea) and talk about their storage and aging. This information will be supported by a special tasting of two very rare aged teas (between 20 and 40 years old)… because the best way to understand the aging process is to imbibe the passing of time.

The Tea Ceremony is a precious chance for deep relaxation and sacred space to nourish ourselves and reconnect. We connect with nature through the tea leaves, we connect to ourselves through our meditation and we connect to others through the shared experience.

This tea ceremony will flow accompanied by a live sound experience performed by Sonando道
Sonando makes sound scapes that lead us to our Inner Silence. Tibetan bowls and ambient guitar textures fuse together with the vibrations of the participants, inviting us to a meditative space where each encounter is unique and ephemeral, just as in life… ichi-go ichi-e.

This workshop is aimed at those who wish to learn more about tea preparation and how to prepare the different types of tea: white tea, green tea, oolong tea, red tea, black tea and puerh tea.
We’ll delve into tea preparation, controlling temperature and steeping times and discuss basic brewing techniques so you can make great tea at home.
